NIFT offers seven Bachelor of Design (B.Des) courses, each of which lasts four years, and three Masters of Design (M.Des) courses, each lasting two years.

NIFT B.Des & M.Des Eligibility
Candidate need to meet the following criteria's to be eligibile to write the NIFT Entrance Exam.
B.Des
Age Limit: 24 years
Education: 10 + 2 pass from any recognized board
B.F.Tech
Age Limit: 24 years
Education: 10 + 2 (with Physics, Chemistry & Maths) from any recognised board
Master Programs
Age Limit: No age limit
M.F.M & M.Des
Education: Undergraduate degree in any discipline
M.F.Tech
Education: B.F.Tech or B.E or B.tech from any recognised university
NIFT Exam Pattern & Criteria
NIFT B-Des Entrance Exam consists of two parts:
NIFT Written Exam: Students are tested on the Creative Ability Test (CAT), a 3 hour drawing-based paper worth 100 marks, and the General Ability Test (GAT), a 2 hour computer-based test worth 100 marks. There is a mixture of subjective and objective questions. The CAT section has a weightage of 50%, while the GAT section has 30%.
The NIFT B.F.Tech Entrance Exam has only one part:
Students must complete a computer-based General Ability Test (GAT), which is an objective-type paper. The paper is three hours long and worth 100 points.
The NIFT M.Des Entrance Exam is similar to the B.Des exam.
NIFT Written Exam: The exam follows the same format as the B.Des, with CAT carrying 40% and GAT carrying 30% weightage.
Group Discussion and Personal Interview: This section is weighted at 30% and delves into your unique design perspective.
The M.F.Tech and M.F.M. entrance exams also have 2 stages:
NIFT Written Exam: A computer-based General Ability Test (GAT) of 100 marks is administered with a 3-hour time limit and a 70% weighting.
Group Discussion & Personal Interview: This step, which has a 30% weighting, assesses students' creative styles and cooperation skills.
