NID Exam Pattern & Criteria
The NID entrance exam comprises two stages: the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and DAT Mains.
The Prelims assess knowledge and skills in design, while the Mains is more practical, testing candidates’ problem-solving abilities through hands-on tasks.
For admission into NID, candidates must perform well in both stages.
Exam Pattern:
- DAT Prelims: Objective and subjective questions - In January
- DAT Mains: Studio test and interview round - In April
NID B.Des & M.Des Eligibility
B.Des: 10+2 from any recognized board. Maths or Science is not necessary.
M.Des: Different for each of 17 specialisations. Along with BE, B.Arch & BFA, B.Com, B.Sc., BMM etc graduates can also apply for certain specialisations.
