IDC Mumbai Courses

Bachelor in Design (B.Des)

  • 4 year, 8 semester Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme.
  • 5 year, 10 semester dual degree (B.Des + M.Des programme)
    • However, the option of doing the dual degree, B .Des + M.Des will be available only at the end of the 3rd year.

Masters in Design (M.Des)

2-year courses:
  • Industrial Design

B.Des Eligibility

  • If candidate belongs to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category, candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1999
  • If candidate belongs to SC/ST/PWD category, candidates should have been born on or after October1, 1994
  • Students can apply for B.Des with their UCEED score

M.Des Eligibility

  • Candidates must have completed at-least a 3 year diploma/post-graduation or must be completing the same by July 2025.
  • Candidates who have completed the GD Arts diploma program are eligible.
  • Students can apply for M.Des with their CEED score.

IDC 2025 Admission Process

Admission to the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is based on the score in UCEED & CEED exam.

    1. Entrance Exam: Post graduate applicants must write the All India Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) and undegraduate applicants must write the UCEED exam
    2. Admission test and interview: Applicants who qualify for UCEED/CEED must appear for another admission test and interview at IDC.
    3. Merit List: A final merit list is created based on the candidate's final score. A cutoff is applied to the list, and candidates with scores below the cutoff are not considered for admission.
    4. Admission: Admission is offered from the merit list based on the number of seats available in each category.
