Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay) offers an excellent environment for academics, research and applications in the field of design. IDC has academic programs in the areas of Industrial Design, Communication Design, Interaction Design, Animation and Mobility & Vehicle Design. The education Programme at IDC is a unique mix of pedagogic experimentation with pragmatic design approach and blends hard-core problem solving with design research.

      IDC Admission Process

      Admission to the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is based on the score in UCEED & CEED exam.

      1. Eligibility: Applicants must have the required undergraduate qualifications. They must also meet the following age requirements:
        • Open/EWS/OBC-NCL: Born on or after October 1, 1999
        • SC/ST/PwD: Born on or after October 1, 1994
      2. Entrance Exam: Post graduate applicants must write the All India Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) and undegraduate applicants must write the UCEED exam
      3. Admission test and interview: Applicants who qualify for UCEED/CEED must appear for another admission test and interview at IDC.
      4. Merit List: A final merit list is created based on the candidate's final score. A cutoff is applied to the list, and candidates with scores below the cutoff are not considered for admission.
      5. Admission: Admission is offered from the merit list based on the number of seats available in each category.
