What is tested in NID DAT Prelims Exam?
NID DAT Prelims is a screening exam designed to test the basic design abilities of students. It is conducted offline and includes creative questions.
One of the biggest changes in the exam pattern over the years has been for M.Des aspirants. Earlier, students had to appear for separate papers according to the design field chosen. The current pattern, however, concentrates on core and thinking skills of the designer. Thus, the exam has become more inclusive and concept-based.
Some important highlights of the exam are
- More importance is given to the thinking process than to the final drawing quality
- Shortlisting candidates for NID DAT Mains
For M.Des candidates, the paper may include a Common Aptitude Test section along with stream-related questions. The total exam duration may vary depending on the chosen discipline combination.
