Julie James

Academic Director & Founder

A post-grad from NIFT- New Delhi, Ms. James has 25+ years of experience in design education. She has worked in the fashion industry in various capacities after her graduation. As HOD, she has been instrumental in setting up of the fashion design department at Assumption College under MG University. At afdindia, she coordinates academics and designs curricula based on the latest changes in question paper patterns. Her creative teaching methods have enabled the institute to achieve great success rate.

Simi Chandran

Ms. Simi has been heading the admissions department of afdindia for the last 15 years. Her knowledge of the admission process to design and architecture schools in India and unparalleled, She is a strong pillar of afdindia. Her rapport with students is so great that many come back to visit her even after years out of passion.

Shilpi Chakraborty

Ms. Chakraborty is an external jury of grad projects at NIFT and has been mentoring afdindians since 2010. She is a NID Ahmedabad alumni and excels in using design for memorable communication. 20+ prestigious organizations have trusted her design inputs and creative skills.

Abhilash Jose

A NID Ahmedabad alumnus, Mr. Jose has worked as a senior design consultant at Increa, Paris, and six other organizations. He is a highly knowledgeable award-winning visual designer and guides afdindians to create stunning visuals required to crack design exams.

Nivedita Austin

Ms. Niveda holds a master's Degree from NID Ahmedabad in Lifestyle Accessory Design. She discontinued her job as a Product Designer in Delhi to join as Creative Head in her family-run Design studio. Her transparent sincerity in wanting the best for her students makes her one of the favorite teachers at afdindia.

Elizabeth Pulimood

Elizabeth is a veritable English Pundit and a long-time faculty at afdindia. She has been associated with afdindia as an English teacher for the last 10 years. Her teaching expertise makes it so much easier for our students to crack the English component in the exams.

Sreehari S

Faculty

Sreehari S is a star alumnus of afdindia, scoring AIR 1 in the 2017 NID entrance exam. After he graduated from NID Ahmedabad in Animation Film Design, he has been taking online sessions for students at afdindia. Even as a student, he has gained industry experience as a creative visualizer for 8 months. His skills in illustration, painting, animation, and poetry are incredibly inspiring for students at afdindia.

Another star alumni of afdindia, Arun Job made sure to score AIR 1 on the 2018 NID entrance exam and pursued a degree in Animation Film Design at the Ahmedabad Campus. Shereena Gaffoor, our Mathematics faculty, began her teaching career 14 years ago after receiving her M.Tech degree in Power Systems. She holds on to her passion for teaching while pursuing her Ph.D simultaneously. Her knack for simplifying the most complex concepts for her students makes her rather popular.

With an MBA in Finance & Marketing, Grinsha takes care of the Accounting Division. This bright girl also holds a degree in computer application. Grinsha is the first point of contact for anyone who visits. She assists the Academic department in their daily operations.
