Students who have completed a degree/diploma/post graduate degree programme of minimum THREE years (after 10+2 level), or be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2025, or have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2025 are eligible to write the exam

What is CEED?
CEED stands for Common Entrance Test for Design. IIT Bombay conducts CEED annually. The CEED entrance exam must be cleared by those who want to pursue an M.Des degree from IITs. The main objective of the exam is to evaluate candidates’ design aptitude, including their visual perception, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, and communication abilities.

CEED 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit
There are no age restrictions for appearing in the CEED exam.
Educational Qualification
To be eligible, candidates need to have completed a degree/diploma/postgraduate degree program that lasts at least three years (after 10+2 level) or be currently enrolled in the final examination of such a program by July 2025. Alternatively, candidates must have completed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2025.
Maximum Attempts
Candidates are allowed to take the CEED exam as long as they meet the age limit requirement.
Scribe Qualification
Candidates who are orthopedically or visually impaired can avail of a scribe facility for part A of the CEED examination. To obtain a scribe, the candidates must adhere to the following rules.
- The application form requires them to indicate their PWD category.
- The authorities will personally provide the candidates with the scribe.
Steps to Fill CEED Application Form 2025
Registration for CEED 2025 will be done online through the CEED official website. Follow this step-by-step guide for completing the CEED 2025 application form.
Online Registration: Register on the official portal by entering necessary information such as email, name, and birthdate. Once registration is complete, a candidate account will be created.
Check Eligibility: To check your eligibility, you need to provide details such as the details of qualifying exam, passing year. You may also have to provide your mobile number.
Fill in the Form: Provide your personal, academic, and contact information. Select your top three choices for exam centres, in order of preference.
Upload Documents: When uploading, please ensure that the photo, signature, and qualifying exam certificates are in the specified format.
Payment of Exam Fee: Once you have verified the application’s accuracy, make the exam payment online with net banking, credit, or debit cards.
Print Out: Print out the application form for future reference.
CEED 2025 Application Fee
The application fee for CEED 2025 is mandatory and non-refundable. The fee for CEED exam can be paid online using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking. The application fee for the exam varies based on the applicant’s category. A late fee of Rs. 500 must be paid by all candidates for submitting the application late. For female candidates (All Categories), SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the application fee is Rs. 1900. For all other candidates, the fee is Rs. 3800.
CEED 2025 Exam Pattern
The CEED exam will be conducted online in two parts, A and B, as stated in the official notification. Part A will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by Part B from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
CEED Part A
Part-A (Total marks: 150; Maximum time: 1 hour)
Section 1: NAT (Numerical Answer Type): This section consists of 8 questions, each worth 4 marks, with no negative marking. You need to use the virtual keyboard on the computer screen to provide a numerical answer for these questions. There are no answer choices provided for these questions.
Section 2: MSQ (Multiple Select Question): This section will have 10 questions. Out of the four options given, each MSQ can have one or more correct choices.
Section 3: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions): There will be a total of 26 questions. Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks and a negative 0.5 marks for each incorrect response. Each MCQ will present four options, but only one will be the correct choice.
CEED Part B
(Total marks: 100; Maximum time: 2 hours) Part B evaluates design, drawing, and writing skills through five questions. The computer screen will show the questions for Part B, and the answers must be written in the answer book given by the invigilator, not on the computer.
